Underdogs, Bid On Them

Around this time of year people begin to break out the brackets. But to me this is the dumbest thing that anyone could ever gamble on. Every year thousands of dollars are bet on the NCAAF bowl games. But many a times have I seen the underdog take the top hand man out in the blink of an eye. We bid money on these teams everyone says are “going” to win, yet we forget that not only do we know this fact, but so do the underdogs. This gives them the motivation, to prove us all wrong. To make us look stupid There is a reason they play the game. This, my dad has told me since I was just a small boy playing flag football. There is never a guaranteed winner until the final buzzer sounds. It makes no since to me why anyone would bet on a game that no matter what will always be a fifty to fifty match-up. It is so easy to predict based on stats and numbers who will win. But the cold hard truth, is when you get this far, to a bowl game, it is a different kind of football being played. Both teams know that this is it. That is they lose they will not be playing football anymore. You have the choice to end the season on a coulda-woulda-shoulda attitude, or you can go out with a bang. The team on top almost never sees it coming. Lots of times the team predicted to win gets to caught up in the celebration after the game that they forget they need to play the game before they plan a party. It is at this point in time that the underdog tends to arise to the challenge. They begin to take the head team out by surprise. This tends to stun the greater team. Leaving them speechless and not knowing how to react. With out any way to fight back, all the so called better team can do is stand by and watch, paralyzed by what is happening, paralyzed with shock. Many times this is the time that the underdog will win. So this betting season why bid all your hard earned money on the upper hand. Give the lower hand a chance. They want it more. They have more of a reason to win. They want to be known everywhere as the winners not the losers. They want to be known as the guys who knocked out the so called better team. These teams are called the underdogs.
